How My Small Shop Life Began

It’s crazy. Still crazy. In 1million years I would have NEVER ever guessed this would have even been a consideration. I am the most shy, to her self person ever. I have opened up as I became a mom but the things I do today for this small shop, I am mind blown myself. So, I have been slacking on my blogs because of how crazy busy I am with my small shop and just life in general. I finally had to tell myself to just take a deep breathe and write. I can use this as a way to express myself. I can be able to relate to other moms or small shop owners. Let me tell you that, I love what I do even if it means I only get 4 hours of sleep, also coffee is my best friend.

Anyway, I am currently 26 years old, have two beautiful kids and been with my love of my life for almost 9 years. I got my bachelor’s degree May 2020 and I got a job as a Behavioral Therapist. Although, once I made the choice to stay home during Covid hit, I lost it. Being home all day with the kids and trying to learn how to adapt felt impossible. I was able to do things I wouldn’t normally do because I was busy with work and school, but I still felt I needed to do more. Which is what I did and now being a small shop owner is a 24/7 thing. I am 100% so proud of how far I have got. If you know me, this was completely out of my comfort zone! It has made me more confident as a person and truly enjoy what I do every single day.

I am almost 2 years into my small shop, and I get to finally say I am truly proud of myself where I am. There’s been LOTs of ups and downs constantly figuring out how to make this work. Still hesitant to keep going, but if I am making it work then why not push forward? I get to be at home with MY babies. What mom wouldn’t love that?! There are times where I catch myself working too much, but I truly cannot help it. I truly LOVE what I do. It’s what I have a passion for. There’s not a day where I wake up fighting myself to get up to work and dread it. I am constantly thinking of how I can improve and make this my living lifestyle forever. Did I go to school for this? NO. I learned literally everything on my own from you tube videos and other small shops advice.

If you have a hobby or passion for something, I always tell them go for it. Take the chance. Make time for it and see where it goes. I love giving advice to my small shop friends and helping them gain the confidence they need to push forward because I know they are capable of it. If you put in the work, it will most definitely work out, but don’t half butt it. I am not going to lie it’s A LOT of work, but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy peasy lemon squeazy!

I believe that if I can do it coming from no education on business, then anyone can do it. Just put your mind to it!
